The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union is the largest private sector Union in North America and represents more than 1.4 million members. They are presently employed in the retail food, meatpacking, manufacturing, poultry and food processing, department and drugstore, garment and textile, distillery and wine, as well as the health care and insurance industries.
When you go to your local supermarket or other retail store in your community, there is a good chance that with over 900,000 members in this field, you are being helped by a UFCW member. When you sit down at your table to eat there is a very good chance that with over 250,000 members working in meatpacking and food processing, a UFCW member has been involved in putting your food on the table.
At the UFCW National Health and Welfare Fund, we are proud to be able to serve thousands of these members. The Fund, formed over 50 years ago, has been dedicated to working closely with the International Union through its Negotiated Benefits Department in order to stay in touch with rapidly changing developments affecting the issues and benefits important to its members.
Just as the UFCW members provide execeptional service on a daily basis, the Fund is dedicated to this goal. The Fund exists because its reputation is built on member satisfaction and we will never forget who got us here.
