Starting January 2024, The UFCW National Fund in partnership with Delta Dental of New Jersey will offer more inclusive coverage to our members and/or family members with qualifying special health care needs (individuals with cognitive, physical, significant behavioral issues, medically diagnosed severe anxiety, or other potential barriers to treatment).

What is included in the Special Health Care Needs benefit?

Coverage Includes: 

  • Additional dental examinations and/or consultations that can be beneficial prior to treatment to help patients learn what to expect and what is needed for a successful dental appointment
  • Up to four total dental cleanings in a benefit year
  • The use of anesthesia and nitrous oxide necessary to provide dental care for patients with sensory processing disorders

UFCW National’s CancerNavigator Service

To support cancer patients in their hour of need, UFCW National Health and Welfare Fund is offering a new, no-cost benefit called CancerNavigator to everyone on the UFCW National Health Plan. The CancerNavigator service provides tailored information, education, and guidance to cancer patients as they navigate the many decisions that follow a diagnosis. Patients can connect directly with an Oncology Nurse Navigator to understand their specific diagnosis and treatment options, learn which centers in their area are well-equipped to treat their cancer type, and to talk through their decisions for care. * The CancerNavigator service is available between 8am and 6pm EST. If calling outside of those hours, patients can leave a voicemail, and an Oncology Nurse Navigator will return the call the following day.
